Fire doors

Marking and types of fire doors

Technical conditions and standards of fire doors are set out in the Ministry of Interior Decree no. 202/1999 Coll.

EI: prevents the spread of fire by openings in fire protection structures. The surface temperature on the side facing away from the fire is directly monitored. They must meet the strictest requirements for fire safety, so they can be used where the EW caps are required.

They are installed at inputs to escape protected paths.

EW: limits the spread of fire and the density of heat radiation from the surface of the entire structure. In this class, the amount of radiant heat emitted from the surface from the fire side at a certain distance is monitored.

S - smoke-tight fire doors that prevent smoke penetration

EI, S - prevents the spread of fire, smoke penetration, combustion products through openings in fire partitions.

EW, S - limit the spread of fire, smoke and smoke through the holes in the structures.

Classes EI and EW are 15, 30, 45, 60, and 90 minutes.

The DP1, DP2, DP3 labels indicate the type of construction used in terms of flammability and the method of incorporation of building materials.

Self-closing:

A letter C is added to the fire door mark and the functional part of the door self-closing device is an integral part of it.

The fire shutter must meet certain criteria for a specified period:

Unity (Criterion E)

Integrity is the ability of a structural element that has a division function to resist a fire that acts on one side of the transmission to an unexposed side due to flame or hot gases.

Thermal insulation (I)

Optional radiation (W)

In order to prevent the spread of heat even in joints and gaps, fire-resistant tapes are used - fire-proof seals.

Panic fittings:

Panic fittings are used at all of the exits of the premises where a large number of people are gathered, ie to secure doors in escape areas. It is essential to ensure a simple and, if possible, safe escape from such areas in the event of an extraordinary (panic) situation. It provides easy solutions and safe use even in buildings with the movement of children, physically disabled or seniors.

  • Panic door fitting secures a door leaf at one, two or three points by type.
  • It is possible to link the panic fitting with the outer shield
  • Easy to use for both right and left doors

A two-point panic fitting is usually fitted to the passive wing of a double-wing door. Single-wing door or active wing can be used with two-point panic fittings for specific requirements.

The use:

In most cases, fire doors are used as interior doors, but there are also exterior fire-fighting systems, but there is more problematic to provide a door with sufficient thermal insulation properties

Material:

There are several versions. We have fire resistant steel doors, wooden with fire-resistant walls, partitions and windows. For smaller openings, a revision door is used.
